Subject: Know someone suffering through grief or depression? Here is a list of available resources in Reedsport

The holiday season is filled with joy for most people, but for others, it can be a very difficult time. The reason could be: stress, feeling overwhelmed, the loss of a loved one, family lives far away or have no family, loneliness, or health issues.

 

If you know someone who might be struggling with grief or depression, we have resources here in Reedsport who can help.

 

Rebecca Rice is a licensed clinical social worker at Dunes Family Health Care. As a mental health therapist, she works with children and adults to help address issues like depression, anger management, parenting, relationship issues, and anxiety. She can also provide treatment for posttraumatic stress disorder, ADHD, relaxation for pain management, psychotic disorders, personality disorders and other mental health issues. The Reedsport Grief Support Group meets on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of every month from 10:30 am to noon at the Family Resource Center at 5 Saint John's Way. The group is run by South Coast Hospice. They can be reached at 541-269-2986.

 

For patients with Medicaid, Dr. John Collins has office hours in Reedsport on Thursdays. He is a psychiatrist through Compass Behavioral Health - Adapt. To schedule an appointment with Dr. Collins, patients can call 541-440-3532 and sign up for services with Compass.

 

Erin Leonard, licensed clinical social worker with Adapt, also sees Medicaid patients in Reedsport. She is here Monday through Friday. To schedule an appointment, please call 541-440-3532.
